Stanford Social Innovation Review is back with their Data on Purpose conference! The Data on Purpose conference, Democracy, Civil Society, and Digital Technology will take place online February 17-18, 2021.

Stanford Social Innovation Review is pleased to announce the return of our annual Data on Purpose conference, scheduled to be held online February 17-18, 2021.
In 2020, SSIR made the decision to pause Data on Purpose to give us an opportunity to reevaluate our focus for this event. We have spent the last several months reflecting on what role SSIR should play in furthering knowledge sharing and learnings around technology and data in service to the social innovation sector.
Just as we aim to do with our magazine and website, we see SSIR conferences as a convening space where ideas and new solutions that are impacting the work of the sector can be shared and explored. While we will still examine digital tools and technologies and their use, Data on Purpose will now focus more on evolving issues in data and digital technology and how these are impacting our work and our world.
We invite you to join Stanford Social Innovation Review for our 6th Data on Purpose conference, “Democracy, Civil Society, and Digital Technology.” This convening is designed to help nonprofit leaders and their teams (technical or not) identify and operationalize digital solutions to critical issues related to our democracy and civil society. With a focus on issues of equity, privacy & security, polarization, and the curtailing of misinformation, Data on Purpose will address the latest research- and practice-based insights from data scientists and researchers, nonprofit, foundation and for-profit leaders, policymakers, and other experts. Our goal is to help identify digital technologies that can strengthen our democracy and civil society, reduce inequities, improve the operation of nonprofit organizations, and empower the kind of informed, democratic participation which is a vital underpinning of civil society.
