Emily Kelly
Hello all! I am a final year medical student at UCSF, formerly Public Health Epidemiologist in Placer County (2020-2021), Cal-EIS Fellow at the California Department of Public Health in the Food and Drug Branch (2018-2019), London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine MSc in Control of Infectious Diseases (2016-2017). Interested in infectious disease epidemiology, microbiology, outbreak response. Really excited to work with you! Currently living in SF and would love to meet up!
I'm also in California and working at CDPH. Congratulations on your final year of medical school! I am also so fascinated by your background in Tropical Medicine! I did a brief public health mission in Vietnam relating to food-borne illnesses. Then I came home to work as a Disease Intervention Specialist responding to a syphilis outbreak in my hometown of Fresno. I made a slight shift and did my training to become an environmental scientist and worked with food consumer protection and wastewater. I am at CDPH and loving it. But I would love to combine my experiences and love for public service by exploring options in the United States Public Service and developing wastewater epidemiology for applied disease surveillance.
I would love to learn more about your journey in public health. Anyways, I'm glad many of us are from California. I hope to get opportunities to work alongside, grow, and learn from you, Emily! Have a wonderful day! I hope you don't mind if I post my contacts and LinkedIn below if you'd like to connect:
