Interested in a Mentee group chat?
Hi everyone!
My name is Gabriella Rodriguez, but feel free to call me Gabby. I am a 1st year MPH student at SUNY Downstate Health Science University. When I am not attending classes, I work at ACC, an animal shelter, to find homes for anything that comes through our doors! I REALLY mean anything from cobras, snapping turtles, chickens, and even Ming the tiger! I became interested in public health while working in the veterinary field. I realized the impact of health disparities on veterinary care is not just limited to biases based on SES, but even the breed of the patient. I am hoping to learn more about the surveillance and prevention of infectious diseases so every animal has a better chance of finding its fur-ever home!
I realize everyone has crazy schedules and may not be able to make it to CSTE events. I made a group chat on Whatsapp for mentees to meet, share ideas, and build a community where we help each other grow. I have posted a link to the group below if you are interested. Have a great day!
