Jackie Castonguay
Hi all! My name is Jackie Castonguay and I am located in the San Francisco Bay Area. We recently moved here from Ohio. I am in my last year of my MPH through Tufts University. My undergraduate degree is in Nursing and I have worked as a nurse for the past 9 years. Currently, I am looking to transition to a clinical research role to gain more experience related to the public health world. Not entirely sure what I want to do long term, but I have a strong interest in infectious disease and outbreak response. Looking forward to meeting and getting to know everyone!
During an environmental science symposium, I met an epi professor at UC Merced (I am using abbreviations because I remembered you're also from CA) who is developing applications for wastewater data used as disease surveillance. I have a background in wastewater as an environmental health specialist and would love to combine it with epi, but who knows where this journey will take me. I'm also very interested in the United States Public Health Service, so I'm here to learn more about what it means to be in the USPHS and as an epi.
I know we didn't get many opportunities to connect as classmates but would love to learn more about your interests in infectious diseases and what you would want to get from the program. I'm looking forward to learning and growing together in this field (and in class, lol)!
You're always welcome to reach out, I will leave my contact and LinkedIn info for you below:
