Discussion questions:
  1. What near-term changes in laboratory technology do you expect will affect the AR surveillance system (ARSS) (e.g., will whole genome sequencing replace PFGE/PCR and other current forms of mechanistic testing?)  How should we account for these changes in our planning? 
  2. What is the National Antimicrobial Resistance Monitoring System for Enteric Bacteria, (NARMS) system for AR testing? How does it assist with clinical care?  How is it used by state labs, and epidemiologists? How do you communicate the NARMS results from CDC to the jurisdictions?
  3. How do PulseNet and NARMS currently fit into the ARSS? How does PulseNet link to NARMS?
  4. What future changes do you anticipate?  
  5. Emerging Infections Program (MuGSI) can pull data from labs, how do they do that?
  6. How do you envision that AR (CP-CRE) surveillance will (or should be) be different than MuGSI?
  7. What kind of coordination should be happening between the AR staff and MuGSI?
