2022 Syndromic Surveillance Symposium

CSTE is excited to announce that registration for the 2022 Syndromic Surveillance Symposium is now open! This event is free and open to anyone interested in syndromic surveillance. It is a great opportunity to learn and connect with others while advancing the practice of syndromic surveillance (SyS). Additional details about the event are included below.

 

The Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE), in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) National Syndromic Surveillance Program (NSSP), will virtually convene the 2022 Syndromic Surveillance Symposium on December 6-8, 2022. The meeting times will be 12:45-5pm ET on December 6th and 7th and 12:45-3:30pm ET on December 8th.

The event is open to any person or organization interested in advancing syndromic surveillance practice and is FREE of charge. However, the target audience for this event is syndromic surveillance coordinators and practitioners, applied epidemiologists, ELC HIS cooperative agreement leads, and NSSP site administrators.

Registration for the 2022 Syndromic Surveillance Symposium is OPEN, and we ask that participants register by November 14, 2022. All interested participants must register for the event in advance by completing the registration form.

 

The 2022 Syndromic Surveillance Symposium aims to:

1.       Advance SyS practice by offering a breadth of learning opportunities across experience levels;

2.       Capitalize on broader public health workforce exposure to SyS during emergency responses by showcasing extensions of SyS methods and new skills to non-infectious disease domains; 

3.       Engage decision-makers in illustrating the power and limitations of SyS in broader public health surveillance;

4.       Explore SyS applications in evaluating health outcome equity; and

5.       Focus discussions on practical methods to standardize best practices and collaboration across jurisdictions.

 

The 2022 Syndromic Surveillance Symposium's schedule will offer several opportunities to exchange ideas with colleagues through trainings, presentations, and informal breaks. Full session details will be shared closer to the event date and are subject to change.
