AZ BioSense Community of Practice

The mission of the Arizona BioSense Workgroup is to work collaboratively as partners to build capacity and quality of BioSense syndromic surveillance in Arizona. Our vision is to improve population health and emergency response through the use of timely and effective syndromic surveillance. This space is a platform for our members to continue discussions and share cross-role topics and questions from providing the data to using syndromic data (clinician/IT/public health).

2023 Syndromic Surveillance Symposium

Good afternoon!
 
I am excited to announce that the online platform for the 2023 Syndromic Surveillance Symposium is now available! If you registered for the Symposium prior to 9:30am ET today you will have immediate access, if you registered after that time you will have access tomorrow. You can access the platform by visiting this link. Below are instructions for logging in to the platform and helpful tips as you navigate the platform.
 
Instructions for Logging In:
  1. Using the above link, login to the agenda using the same email address that you used to register for the Symposium (Note: this email was sent to the email address we have on file for your Symposium registration.)
  2. Once you have entered your email address, you will be prompted to enter your password. You will need to create a password OR enter your existing password if you have previously signed into the Confex system (e.g. by submitting an abstract). If you need help, please click or tap "Forgot Password."
  3. Once you are logged in, visit your profile in the upper right-hand corner to complete your profile, including adding your title and bio. We encourage you to upload a profile picture, too!
 
Helpful tips as you navigate the platform:
  1. On the home page of the platform, you’ll find a link to access pre-recorded breakout and training sessions, you can also access those presentations here. I encourage you to review these prior to the Symposium as there will be Q&A sessions for you to ask questions of presenters live during the Symposium. You can also use the comment feature in Vimeo to ask questions and speakers will answer them during the Symposium.
  2. Sessions will run from 12:45-5:15pm ET each day (12/5-12/7) and I encourage you to review the agenda by session type, date and time, and committee. You can add sessions to your favorites by clicking the star icon next to the session. All sessions will be hosted in Zoom, and links to each session will be populated in the platform by the start of the Symposium.
  3. You can connect with fellow attendees on the “Search People” page.
  4. Helpful resources related to the Symposium and the NSSP CoP are found under “Meeting Resources”.
  5. You can view session times in either the meeting time zone (EST) or your time zone by clicking the button at the top of the platform web page.
 
In addition to utilizing the Symposium platform, we encourage you to join in on the discussion in the #2023-sys-symposium channel in Slack. If you need access to Slack, you can request it here.
