AZ BioSense Community of Practice

The mission of the Arizona BioSense Workgroup is to work collaboratively as partners to build capacity and quality of BioSense syndromic surveillance in Arizona. Our vision is to improve population health and emergency response through the use of timely and effective syndromic surveillance. This space is a platform for our members to continue discussions and share cross-role topics and questions from providing the data to using syndromic data (clinician/IT/public health).

📢 AZ COVID-like Illness (CLI) EMS Regional Trends in NSSP ESSENCE

What's New:
  • Data Sharing Access Aggregate Rules User Groups
    • New Data sharing user groups and aggregate access rules for 4 AZ PHEP Regions.
    • Each Region:
      • Has their own dashboard currently.
      • Has access to their regional CLI and ILI trends for percent and count of visits
        • Note: there is a new CLI v2 CC DD category that we have been waiting on our HEOC to approve whether we will transition to this new definition or not.
      • Trends reflect the combined ED and Inpatient Facility Types
    • Considerations
      • Access to these aggregate regional rules means that you must be intentional when selecting the Hospital Region (County) or Region (County) in your queries.
      • Directions to OPT OUT and OPT IN of this aggregate rule have been provided to the BioSense Liaisons.  Contact your BioSense Liaisons to for questions about your specific data access needs.  BioSense Liaisons will contact the ADHS Syndromic Surveillance Program for any changes in users added or removed from these rule at syndromicsurveillance@azdhs.gov.
  • myESSENCE Dashboards
    • You can access the myESSENCE dashboard in your myESSENCE tab.
    • These dashboards are also available for download in the myESSENCE Library.
      • Note: If you do not have access to the regional aggregate data rule and user group, you will not see the same trend information for the region.
    • I have managed these dashboards and so any changes that I make to the dashboards will be reflected in the dashboards you have access to.  The data in NSSP ESSENCE is more up to date then what is available on the ADHS public facing dashboards with the regional CLI and trends.  We can discuss further on our next Exploratory Analysis Subgroup call next Thursday at 1pm.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks,
Krystal
