📢 ESSENCE2 Available to use
Hi all,
We have some updates to share with you all. NSSP has been working on new developments to ESSENCE and one of those has been this upgraded version of the application called ESSENCE2. You as a user are now able to go into ESSENCE2 and take advantage of the many new options, especially when it comes to query options, filters, sorts, and labels for creating your queries and visualizations in the Query Portal, additional options for the Alert Lists, and so much more. ESSENCE2 can be used the same way you currently use ESSENCE but it has many more options available to you. Your username and password for ESSENCE are the same for ESSENCE2.
NSSP would like to hear your feedback as well and so I am asking anyone that has a chance to look at ESSENCE2 to please share your questions, suggestions, ideas for using the new features, and anything you would like us to pass on. My first questions have a lot to do with ESSENCE Q & A training webinars to see demos of new query and filter options like how do use the Calculated Race and Ethnicity fields, how to use the Social Vulnerability Index filters, how to use Discharge Timing filters, how to use Annotations, how to use new graph display filters, how to use new label and sort options, how to use Multigraph and Micrograph filters, and how to use new Alert List options for facilities with FIPS codes. As you can see I have lots of questions and I anticipate that you all will too.
Please take a look at ESSENCE2 with this link: https://essence2.syndromicsurveillance.org. Let us know what your feedback is.
Have a wonderful week!

I do have a few updates to share with the group on ESSENCE2. After passing along questions to NSSP, I have learned that many of the updates I mentioned in ESSENCE2 have been migrated to ESSENCE as of this past weekend. When this migration is to take place the Data Dictionary is planned to be updated as well.
If you have the opportunity to join the NSSP CoP monthly call today at 12pm AZ time, some of the new functionality and updates will be shared. Information below for folks that wish to join the call. This call will also be recorded and posted to the Knowledge Repository.
