AZ BioSense Community of Practice

The mission of the Arizona BioSense Workgroup is to work collaboratively as partners to build capacity and quality of BioSense syndromic surveillance in Arizona. Our vision is to improve population health and emergency response through the use of timely and effective syndromic surveillance. This space is a platform for our members to continue discussions and share cross-role topics and questions from providing the data to using syndromic data (clinician/IT/public health).

📢 NSSP Introductory Webinar to Support Transition from SAS to R




Good afternoon,

NSSP is offering an introductory webinar to support the transition of SAS code to R. This webinar will focus on addressing common surveillance functions, including pulling data through APIs, cleaning data, data visualization, and saving data. Examples of code in SAS and R will be provided.
Target Audience: Syndromic surveillance epidemiologists and analysts working in the BioSense Platform’s SAS studio or other SAS users interested in learning how to convert SAS code to R.

Date: Thursday, January 23rd from 2-3pm ET

As a reminder, SAS will no longer be available on the BioSense Platform beginning in late 2025. ESSENCE will remain unaffected by this transition, and RStudio will continue to be offered on the BioSense Platform.
