The Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE), in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) National Syndromic Surveillance Program (NSSP), will virtually convene the 2021 Syndromic Surveillance Symposium on November 16-18, 2021 from 1-5pm EST.
You’re Invited
The event is open to any person or organization interested in advancing SyS practice and FREE of charge. However, the target audience for this event is syndromic surveillance coordinators and practitioners, applied epidemiologists, ELC HIS cooperative agreement leads, and NSSP site administrators.

Registration for the 2021 Syndromic Surveillance Symposium is open NOW through EOD Monday, November 15, 2021. All interested participants must register for the event in advance by completing the registration form. See attached for the event flyer and below for more information.

The 2021 Syndromic Surveillance Symposium aims to:
1. Advance syndromic surveillance (SyS) practice by offering a breadth of learning opportunities across experience levels;
2. Capitalize on broader public health workforce exposure to SyS during COVID by showcasing extensions of SyS methods and new skills to non-infectious disease domains;
3. Engage decision-makers in illustrating the power and limitations of SyS in broader public health surveillance;
4. Explore SyS applications in evaluating health outcome equity; and
5. Focus discussions on practical methods to standardize best practices and collaboration across jurisdictions.
The 2021 Syndromic Surveillance Symposium's schedule will offer several opportunities to exchange ideas with colleagues through trainings, presentations, and informal breaks. Full session details will be shared closer to the event date and are subject to change.
