AZ BioSense Community of Practice

The mission of the Arizona BioSense Workgroup is to work collaboratively as partners to build capacity and quality of BioSense syndromic surveillance in Arizona. Our vision is to improve population health and emergency response through the use of timely and effective syndromic surveillance. This space is a platform for our members to continue discussions and share cross-role topics and questions from providing the data to using syndromic data (clinician/IT/public health).

📢 Updates to Data and Potential Downtime

BioSense Platform Updates to Data and Potential Downtime:

The BioSense Platform will be updating historical data to redact personally identifiable information (PII) from the “Raw” table. We are assessing messages that need to be updated and have identified your site as containing data with PII. We are informing you in advance because over the next few weeks we will redact PII from those data. All affected data are at least a year old.

Depending on how many messages are affected, we might need to suspend dataflow to redact the information. Dataflow would be down for a limited time, relative to the size of the update. If this is the case, we’ll let you know at least 24 hours in advance. Otherwise, we’ll update the messages, and there should be no noticeable effect on services.

If you have questions about the data affected, please reach out to the NSSP team.

Effect on Services:

  • Dataflow
