CIFOR Promote Development Team

Reddit AMA update

Hello CIFOR Promote DT and Marketing WG,
After further consideration, APHL suggests we hold off on doing the CIFOR Reddit AMA. Our purpose in doing an AMA would be to have a platform to distribute our messages, successes and tools. As yet, we have not written our marketing messages or collected our success stories. Our time in SLC would be better spent finishing our Marketing Plan, writing our messages, setting our calendar, and devising a plan to gather, write and promote our successes. Then we could plan for an AMA during a future Council Meeting.
We hope you agree with us but are happy to discuss on an upcoming conference call if anyone so desires.

Some technical considerations about a future Reddit AMA:  Our target audience is not the general public, but food safety professionals who typically work in government. This audience may not have access to Reddit during the workday. For this reason, we might want to focus on blogs and podcasts instead of an AMA.  Also, we can use Reddit to post our information, more like a Tweet.  We'd just want to find the right subReddit in which our target audience would participate.  (and I'm not sure the majority of our audience is on Reddit with any frequency).
