I think this case/ article is a classic example of how hiding the truth from patients can erode trust in these environments. Imagine your newborn being placed in the midst of a MRSA outbreak. Hospital staff claimed all parents were notified but at least one came forward later & disputed this - she was led to believe that she was the source of the infection of her child & was shocked to find that the hospital knew otherwise.
