The audience for this Basecamp is CSTE members working at STLT health departments participating in COVID-19 response activities. Appropriate resources to upload include health department-created guidance documents, resources, or other useful tools that may be helpful to other jurisdictions during their response. Has anyone developed a statewide sampling strategy that takes into account all of the various tests that are available or are coming online soon (traditional 4-6 hour PCR, rapid PCR, antigen, antibody, etc)? Kansas is a largely rural state with urban pockets. I want to strategically plan for how we might deploy testing instruments and supplies that our state PH labs gets in order to best understand what is happening in different parts of the state. I would also like to have a clear plan for what testing we are going to use in different situations, for example in congregate settings like nursing homes and prisons when they have an outbreak versus when they don't, in counties with widespread community transmission versus counties with a few epi-linked cases, etc. If anyone has come up with a plan for their state, or even a bullet point list of things that need to be considered when deciding these things, I would really appreciate it.
