Svetlana, can you say more about what other elements from this you are hoping to integrate into communication outreach. I think you mentioned the use of the icons or color coding as useful examples. I agree, the root analysis thought process is useful and something we are going to try out at the workshop.

I really like the standardization for communication that FEMA’s lifelines toolkit offers. Having worked with colleagues involved in geospatial situational awareness (e.g. damage assessment, evacuations), I came to appreciate the need for concise and standard methods. Perhaps we can take the approach from this toolkit and eventually develop a set of our own Disaster Epi standards, icons, etc. 

But first, for the DE marketing materials, I think the root cause communication method would work nicely.
