Aloha from Hawaii!

Hello! My name is Dave Johnston, and I'm an epidemiologist with the Hawaii Department of Health's Disease Outbreak Control Division. Our division is responsible for surveillance, investigation, and control of infectious diseases in Hawaii. I got my MPH from the University at Albany before joining HDOH, and have been out here for just over 9 years now. Much of my experience has been on the data, analytics, and outreach side of epi, but I'm looking forward to developing and expanding my program management and leadership skills. My project is going to be coordinating the eventual transition of our COVID-19 pandemic response to routine surveillance. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you!
