Hello everyone. I am physician and joined Los Angeles County Public Health3 years ago where I oversee surveillance and outbreak response for viral hepatitis and respiratory diseases. My main interest is in developing a program for chronic viral hepatitis prevention and care. Prior to coming (back) to LA County, I served as a medical officer with CDC, much of that time was in Alaska doing research on infectious disease health disparities. I still maintain my clinical time taking general medicine call once a week and half-day of liver clinic every other week. As part of LEAD, I want to develop program management skills. We expect to receive new funding from CDC for viral hepatitis surveillance and prevention; for my LEED project, I plan to work on grant requirement to develop a County viral hepatitis elimination strategy. I look forward connecting with and learning from everyone else in this cohort over the next couple of years.

Greetings from Las Vegas! My name is Ying Zhang. I am currently the Senior Scientist at the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD). Before this position, I was an injury epidemiologist at the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. I received my PhD in health education, minor in statistics, from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2009, and my MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2012. My early career expertise was in injury and chronic disease epidemiology. I currently co-chair CSTE’s Injury Epidemiology and Surveillance Subcommittee. At SNHD, I have been leading two rounds of the Community Health Assessment (CHA) efforts. My project will be to implement the Cardiff Model to address one of the local public health priories we identified from the CHA, violence prevention. 
It is a great pleasure to participate in the CSTE LEAD program. I am looking forward to learning from everyone.
