Introductions!

Hello everyone. I am a med epi in LA County. I oversee our LTCF outreach program, which works to reduce HAIs in LTCFs. So most of my experience is in investigating/preventing healthcare-associated LD. I look forward to learning from others through this process.

Judy Kauerauf, Communicable Disease Section Chief from Illinois Department of Public Health. I oversee all reportable infectious diseases, excluding STDs and HIV, and work closely with LD and HAI outbreaks.

I am the Waterborne Disease Epidemiologist & Legionella Coordinator with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. About half of my job is working on Legionnaires' disease, and the other half is working on other fun waterborne/foodborne pathogens (Giardia, Crypto, Vibrio, Cyclospora mainly). As a semi-small state, our state Legionella program consists of me and my supervisor, so I lead or assist with all LD investigations in CO. I am excited to learn more about the resources other jurisdictions have available, as well as to help create another source of guidance for the LD prevention community!

Hello.  I'm the Registered Environmental Health Specialist part of the Southern Nevada Health District Legionella team.  I coordinate the field investigations for LD confirmed Travel Associated cases associated with any Las Vegas Hotel or Resort.  Our typical single case investigations involve water sampling of facilities that may have up to 5000 rooms and multiple guest room towers. In my spare time I foster dogs.

Hi everyone. I am the legionellosis surveillance coordinator (since 2016) and general communicable diseases epidemiologist (enteric, invasive bacterial, respiratory, fungal, and unusual diseases) at the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. I work closely with two other epidemiologists in our department, local and tribal public health agencies (we're a "home rule" state), and other state partner agencies (environmental health sanitarians, plumbing code consultants) on all LD investigations in Wisconsin.

Hi. I am a med epi with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI) Program and provide consultation to local health departments responding to reports of  HAI outbreaks or incidents. I oversee healthcare-associated Legionnaires' surveillance and response for CDPH. Looking forward to sharing and learning from all of you.

I am the Legionellosis Epidemiologist at the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.  I am responsible for legionellosis surveillance and outbreak response (in a nut shell).  Our Legionella team consists of myself and an Environmental Health Specialist.  Looking forward to working with everyone!
