I've had a lot of great experiences with NACCHO and ISDS. 

NACCHO is the national association that represents local health departments and ISDS is focused on health surveillance, especially syndromic surveillance.

The Preparedness summit (http://preparednesssummit.org) is also a really great conference.

APHA is another one, plus your local state/territorial APHA affiliate, but I agree with Eric regarding NACCHO and ISDS.  For those of us in infectious disease epi, especially for HAI's, APIC is another good one.

I agree with Gregory, for ID epidemiologist - APIC but also IDSA, and SHEA. I'm a member with SER and have found their resources extremely useful. Even if I don't belong to groups, I find that following organizations on social media is extremely helpful with staying informed!

I've recently joined the Interdisciplinary Association for Population Health Science (IAPHS; https://iaphs.org/), and I hope to attend the IAPHS conference this fall. I appreciate their interdisciplinary approaches to address health disparities in populations.

Another conference some may be interested is the Public Health Informatics Conference. I have not been, but hope to attend this year! It is August 20-23 in Atlanta, and they are still accepting abstracts.
