👋 ARUP Laboratories - COVID-19/SARS-CoV-2
Good afternoon all -
I would like to thank you all for the work you are doing in response to the pandemic we are currently facing. We’ve received many requests for information about ARUP’s national testing capacity for 2019 Novel Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. We've tried to address the most-asked questions we've received and are hoping you can disseminate to those in your organizations if you're receiving questions about the same information.
- We have begun performing a test, 2019 Novel Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 by PCR. Due to supply constraints, limits on capacity, and extraordinary demand for testing, ARUP is not currently accepting orders from facilities located outside of Utah.
- We have set up our current reporting processes to send all results, including not detected and invalid results. These results will be included in any feed/report that receives infectious/communicable diseases. Please let us know if you would like to ONLY receive detected results.
- We do not have any SNOMED codes in our system and so are unable to update feeds to include them at this time.
- Some agencies have asked us for a list of the clients we work with who are located within their jurisdictions. ARUP client lists fall within proprietary business information. As such, we are prohibited from making such lists available.
- Our assessment of ARUP’s testing capabilities is an ongoing process. Information about our kit/reagent supply chain and demands from us for testing by region are in flux. At this time, we are not able to provide specific and reliable data for these requests.
- We have published a site regarding our response to COVID-19, it is updated frequently to reflect the most current information. You can find it here: https://aruplab.com/infectious-disease/coronavirus.
- Due to an increase in requests regarding this test/reporting, it may take longer to respond. We appreciate your patience as we try to get through all of your requests.
Stay safe,
