CELR as an optional activity following the end of the PHE

On 4/24, CDC announced via email that as of the PHE ending on May 11, line level COVID-19 electronic laboratory reporting (CELR) from state public health agencies to CDC will become an optional activity under the ELC Cooperative Agreement.

As we've discussed on recent APHL ELR open calls, we are interested in understanding what jurisdictions are planning to do regarding CELR now that it will be considered an optional activity.

Please complete this
super brief form to let us know your intentions with CELR. We do already have some responses from the following jurisdictions, however please also feel free to complete the survey if you want to provide more info or if anything changes: RI, WA, FL, NC, CA, NH, KY, NV, OR, KS, MA, VT, IA, CT, MN, MT, OK and VA.

It would be fantastic if we could hear from the community at large.

Thank you!

Brooke

Can this information be shared with the labs as well.  Labcorp has only heard from 5 states, and one of those because Wendy from Quest shared with me.

Hi Carmen - CT is getting information out to labs today re: end of PHE and covid reporting requirements.
Brooke Beaulieu, APHL
Carmen Pugh, Labcorp Manager State Reporting at LabCorp Carmen Yes, we should be able to share this high-level info with you.

If jurisdictions have not yet responded to the survey, we encourage you to submit your responses! We will keep the form open as you continue to discuss and finalize your plans for CELR. Ideally, we would like to hear from as many jurisdictions as possible so that we pass that info along to the CELR team.

Thanks for your time and help!
