Cerner COVID reporting- HealthCentry phase out

Hi all. Alaska is having some issues with initiating new ELR connections to facilities on a large statewide Tribal Health instance of Cerner. Their reasoning is that they're phasing out the HealthSentry companion product and don't want to initiate any new connections using it. Their replacement (I believe is called Public Health Reporting?) isn't available yet and will take our Tribal Health Entities lots of development anyway before they can upgrade. It's a really small ask of Cerner in this instance, as these facilities' integrated Cerner domain means that it's just adding other facilities to the feed. Has anyone had similar experiences and has advice? Thanks!

Hi Megan,

I'm sorry you are having issues. I can confirm that Cerner will not do any work with HealthSentry. We requested a modification on reporting frequency for one of our health systems from once a day to twice a day due to volume, and they would not make that change due to HealthSentry no longer being maintained. Their new Public Health Reporting product is great though but does take a lot of work to get up and running. We have onboarded several facilities with that product and currently working with a few now. For the HealthSentry issue, our point of contacts seemed to be more flexible regarding changes if the facility was doing in-house testing for COVID. I'm wondering if that would make a difference with your point of contacts.

Good Luck!
