Cruise ship results reporting

Hello all, is anyone else working on cruise lines results reporting? I'd love some collaboration regarding what others states are requiring (all testing, same as all other sites vs. something pared down as they have other substantial federal regs??). Thanks much!

One of our Washington State Non-Healthcare congregate settings team member responded to my ask with this information.
"The answer also depends on the size of the cruise ship. For large cruise vessels (defined by they CDC as 250+ passengers), these fall under the CDC Conditional Sailing Order (CSO). This means that all reporting goes to CDC daily. For smaller cruise ships (under 250 passengers) we’ve put the following requirements in place since May: https://www.governor.wa.gov/sites/default/files/COVID19%20Cruise%20Guidance.pdf The very last paragraph addresses reporting:
 
When one or more cases of COVID-19 are identified on a cruise ship (including crew and passengers), the cruise ship operator must notify the local public health authority and the Washington State Department of Health in addition to any other required reporting avenues (CDC Quarantine Station, Port Authority, and/or FDA Interstate Travel Program) within 24 hours of receiving the positive test result. The Washington State Department of Health should be notified by emailing nhcs-covid@doh.wa.gov and/or calling 206-418-5500. Cruise ship operators must cooperate with public health authorities in the investigation of cases, suspected cases, outbreaks, and suspected outbreaks (Governor’s Proclamation 20-25.12). In the event of an outbreak, consult with public health authorities for next steps. It is possible that mass testing, temporary suspension of cruise operations, or other control measures will be necessary to control the outbreak."

Hope this helps. They didn't indicate what they were doing to ensure the reporting is occurring.

We recently were contacted by American Cruise Lines about reporting results. One of their cruises goes from Nashville to Memphis. The first batch of results sent to us were primarily OOS residents. We discussed the preferred routing of results and concluded that the preference is still patient address. Our thought was that even if they are sent OOS, if we discovered they were linked to a cluster on the cruise we can ask the State where they reside to share info. Since most of these will be negative or these passengers could have been exposed before arriving in TN we prefer they go to the State where they reside.  Also, we guided them to the AIMS Centralized reporting link since they would have many different jurisdictions to report to. We had some discussion about what would be most appropriate info for ordering facility/provider address but never decided on anything.
