Eurofins data completeness issue

Hi all -

Are any other states having issues with Eurofins data completeness? From the data we have been receiving in Washington State, the main issues are that ordering provider zipcode and phone number are missing for all records we have received. Ordering provider zipcode and phone number are required in our state, and I think others too.

We are also seeing ordering provider NPI show up as two different NPIs for the same ordering provider. We see a legitimate NPI for some records, and we also see a four digit "8974" for other records.

Are other states seeing these similar issues? Viracor seemed pretty adamant that they cannot collect this information.

Thanks for any help/information you can provide.

Will,

If I had a dollar for every testing location that can't provide this information, I wouldn't be able to retire, but I could buy a few lattes.

Thanks for that comment Nancy :) We are also seeing this issue with Kroger. I think we will just move them along. I thought that with partnering with AIMS there might be more pressure to report this information.

We have in-state hospitals that can't consistently report this because of how their EPIC implementation was set up.

I think this goes back to the push-pull between what labs can or must implement under CLIA and other regulatory authorities vs what public health wants. I believe I heard on one of the PEW Research calls about ELR that one lab director said that if they make changes for some testing requests, they would have to implement that system-wide and would impact other testing areas in the lab (environmental, etc.).

I agree that for these non-traditional labs if AIMS would help us get more traction for complete information for covid reporting that would help.
