Follow-Up from 6/2 ELR WG Call, Feedback Requested by 6/5

Thanks for the great discussion on the ELR workgroup call today! Please see below for a few items of follow-up from the call. For items 2 and 3, we are requesting feedback by COB this Friday, June 5th. There are two methods to provide feedback:
  • Email your comments to the specified contact (or brooke@cste.org if unsure)
  • Reply to this discussion thread with your comments 
We would like to keep this discussion as organic as possible, so please feel free to pose and address other questions/comments in your replies. 
 
Item 1: Reminder about available onboarding assistance 
 
If states need onboarding assistance with any lab, they can email eocevent405@cdc.gov and copy edx@cdc.gov
 
Item 2: Member input into developing state testing expansion strategies
 
How involved were ELR workgroup members in creating their state’s testing expansion plan?  Were data collection, reporting, processing, and sending to CDC built into the plans (have to be ready to handle the data)?

Item 3: Finalizing the national ELR flat file
 
See attached for the near final draft of the ELR flat file workbook. The file currently contains 102 data elements, easily viewed in both the Gap Analysis and Flatfile_Use tabs. There was some feedback on the call that the current number of data elements should be reduced to a more minimal data set to ease lab completion.

Upon reviewing the current compilation, is there a minimum data set out of this master file that labs of all sizes would (should) be able to accommodate? Please provide your feedback on what this minimum data set should include.
