HHS COVID Reporting Requirements changes

Hi, not sure if there is already a thread open on this (didn't see one), but I have a question about the changes to be effective on 4/4/22 per the CARES Act Section 18115. It is clear that both positives and negatives are required to be reported for NAAT testing from CLIA certified high-to-mod complexity labs, but it isn't as clear about POC NAAT testing settings. Since some POC NAAT tests can be used per CDC guidance as confirmatory tests, are POC NAAT positives and negatives also being required to be reported, or is this being left up to states & localities?

That part is up to states. We’ve lumped those rapid PCRs with other rapid tests, with only positives required under federal regs. If anyone feels the volume of rapid PCRs is substantial, and this would be a problem, let us know.
