Incomplete Demographics from Commercial Labs for COVID Results

Hi all,

We've noticed that demographic information, and address in particular are less complete for COVID tests for Quest, LabCorp, and Mayo (about 40% incomplete vs. about 10% for other tests). This is causing a lot of problems for our disease reporting staff. 

Has anyone else noticed this? Is it causing problems for you? Is there any way we can band together and try to get this improved?

Hi Carmen from LabCorp told me she was pushing to get patient demographics from submitters, however, they can't hold up testing if the submission is missing patient demographics.

Quest usually has the same issue, but we can contact Wendy DeLeon as well. Any particular Quest labs?

Mayo -- I can't speak to this.

Hi Nancy,
Mayo Clinic would also provide the patient demographics if we have that information. Like other labs we would not hold up performing this testing for that information.

Hi Nancy – Quest has the same issue as LabCorp. We’re trying to get them if missing, but don’t want to hold up reporting either.
