Meditech and Specimen Access #

Hi all,
I'm sure this has come up on a past ELR call, but we are working with 2 hospitals using Meditech that use a different unique identifier for SPM 2.1 (specimen ID) than the lab uses to look up information on the specimen. The lab specimen ID is in SPM 3.1. We are looking to make changes in our interface to pull from SPM 3.1 so we get the most useful spec ID, but wondering if other states had encountered this with Meditech. Thanks!

I just discovered today that we have a similar issue with at least one hospital that we are in the process of on-boarding that uses Meditech.  The lab users as well as other users use the value in SPM 3.1 to report, look up and/or communicate about the lab results. The value in SPM-2.2 seems to be meaningless to them.
