New CMS Rule

Hi all -- are folks familiar with the new CMS interim final rule that was published yesterday? I got a copy from our facility licensing group. This clearly states: Please note that health care facilities using Point of Care COVID-19 testing devices under a CLIA Certificate of Waiver, including nursing homes, pharmacies, or other settings will be required to report test results under this regulation.

And the memo outlines penalties as well.

I'm attaching it here. We should add this to our topics for Tuesday's call.

Yes, a local health system panicked yesterday expecting us to answer the questions. More mayhem. Anyone surprised? We are now getting help desk calls expecting us to support various POC machines.
