Veterans Affairs covid reporting

Hi all, we got the following message from the VA in CT.
If we can find out from APHL if states will receive VA covid 19 test results via interpartner via AIMS and what about states being able to get case information i.e. symptoms, underlying conditions, occupation etc. for those who test positive. Any update for the ELR workgroup or on the next Thursday extended ELR call would be appreciated. Thanks

"VHA determined at the end of July 2020 to report negative COVID test results to HHS (CDC is a component of HHS) as opposed to individual States due to legal constraints in disclosure authority preventing a unified, standard VHA approach for State reporting. VHACO has been working diligently to initiate reporting to HHS/CDC.
 
VHA will be transmitting PII data along with positive and negative COVID test results for all of VHA nationally to the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL), CDC’s agent. Individual VA health care facilities and labs should not be reporting negative COVID test results to States or other agencies directly."
