CSTE National ELR Workgroup

Viracor Eurofins Clinical Diagnostics

The Iowa HIV program requested that we reach out and establish ELR with Viracor Eurofins.  It is my understanding that they perform specialized HIV testing and Genome Sequencing.  After reaching out to Viracor, I learned the following:
  1. the reporting format is a CSV ("flat") file (no near-term plans for transmitting with HL7)
  2. electronic reporting is currently only going to Florida and New York using SFTP servers at each respective state; Viracor does not have its own SFTP server for reporting to public health
  3. Viracor does some web-based reporting to Wisconsin and New York
I reached out to APHL to see if we might be able to on-board Viracor with AIMS. APHL reached out to CDC to seek support for a national project and it sounds like the next opportunity for CDC support would be next year's ELC grant.  

This might be a good topic for discussion: how to build capacity via AIMS for on-boarding smaller labs that report nationwide.

  • New York reports that they perform testing beyond HIV testing.
