New RMSF toolkit and free CE opportunities
Hello everyone,
I know we mentioned this on one of our more recent calls; the RMSF clinical toolkit went live today.
I know we mentioned this on one of our more recent calls; the RMSF clinical toolkit went live today.
The toolkit is now available and includes opportunities for continuing education in seven professional categories (CME, CNE, CEU, CECH, AAVSB/RACE, CPE, and CPH) which provides educational credit for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, veterinarians, nurses, epidemiologists, public health professionals, educators, and health communicators.
Key learning objects of the toolkit include:
- RMSF is a rapidly progressing tickborne disease with non-specific clinical findings during early illness.
- Doxycycline is the drug of choice for treating people of all ages, including pediatric patients.
- Treatment is most effective at preventing death and severe disease when started within the first 5 days of symptoms.
In addition to the new toolkit, the RMSF website has updated content including communications tools, more information for healthcare providers, and the latest data and statistics.
We hope this will be helpful to you all and the public health practitioners in your area. Please share the information broadly with your colleagues and partners.
Let me know if you have any questions,
Naomi
