CSTE LEAD

Happy Friday all! I wanted to share another CSTE opportunity with you!

“Applications are currently open for the third cohort of our leadership training program for mid-career epidemiologists: CSTE LEAD: Leading Epidemiologists, Advancing Data. Preview the application before submitting the application by October 21, 2022.

CSTE LEAD presents an opportunity for mid-career epidemiologists to participate in a structured 12-month competency-based on-the-job leadership training program. The online training
will include topics focusing on leadership development, motivating a team, leading an organization, and navigating politics and systems change. Each participant will lead a project that allows them to directly apply the training content. Participants are also eligible for complimentary CSTE membership for the duration of the program. Participant projects must aim to improve the practice of applied epidemiology and can occur at a health department or as
part of CSTE activities (e.g. subcommittee or workgroup projects). Participants will receive project support and guidance from their onsite supervisor, project sponsor, and a mentor.

Applicants must be working at a state or local health department, tribal health department
or a tribal epidemiology center, and must be nominated by their supervisor, State Epidemiologist or Health Official. Eligible applicants must have a minimum of 5 years of public health work experience, serve or had served in a role that provides leadership for a project, and be able to commit up to 6 hours per month during the 12-month program. Ideal candidates will also have a
minimum of 3 years of work as an epidemiologist.

CSTE hosted an informational webinar on September 27th and the recording and slides can be found on our webpage. Please reach out to WFResources@cste.org with any questions.”
