Hi all, this is the case study of the West TX fertilizer plant explosion, prepared by a team of local, regional, and state officials involved in the epi investigation. I look forward to getting feedback! (Dave Zane)
· Did the team learned about new data sources not typically used in our outbreak investigations, you know in contrast to ID in which you look at communicable disease data or laboratory results here you have to do more forensic work, Insurance company records, Red Cross interviews, ME deaths
· How do you work the privacy concerns besides “trust relationships” , particularly across state lines hospitals
· Interview questionnaires did you have to do any translations or use bi-lingual staff
· Any mental health aspects for the community r the investigation team
· Logistics used, translators new mapping software or technology licenses acquired etc.
· How were communications handled: County or State office or the incident command/EOC provided a PIO?
