-------- SOEM ADDENDUM ISSUED 08.01.23

Highlights known limitations of SOEM approach and alternatives for states to use.  Two issues resolved:

Issue 1: The exposure assignments for three 'all other' 6-digit SOC codes (19-2099.01, 41-3099.01, 51-9199.01) are based on one O*Net corresponding 8-digit SOC code that might not be representative of whole 6-digit SOC category. Based on the presentation, "Production workers, all other" the exposure assignment of 'low' did not seem correct and that maybe there was some error or misclassification. We didn't find an error, per se, but did find a flaw in the SOEM approach in handling exposure level assignments for 6-digit SOC codes based only on one 8-digit O*Net SOC (which are more specific.) 

Issue 2: We identified three additional 6-digit SOC groups (53-6041.00, 47-5051.00 ,15-2091.00) that might be a concern given the words “other” and miscellaneous.
