question for the group: is anyone looking at visits due to "long covid"? If so, how are you coding for this? I know U09.9 came out in Oct, but what about previous visits (like in 2020?)

Hey I just asked a question and was encouraged to put it out to the general Campfire: how have people been deciding on what counts as a "COVID hospitalization"? Have certain symptoms, interventions, diagnosis codes, etc. been considered definitively COVID-related or not? For example, if a patient comes in with pre-diagnosed renal disease and his admission is COVID+ and acute renal failure, how might you decide whether they are a COVID hospitalization or not? What defines it for you? |
