I took the course last year and suggested it on our last peer-to-peer call. It looks like it was updated, which is good because while the content was good, the slides and audio were pretty bad ... just VERY sleep inducing. I had to stand up any time I was going through the modules or I would fall asleep within 5 minutes ... the slides were black and white text (mostly) and the audio was pretty monotone and often just read the slides to you and added a bit of other information. Hopefully they adopted a few presentation best practices for the updated class. I learned quite a bit, but they could definitely make some improvements.

Hey Crystal - Laurel Boyd and I from the OR AITT took this course last year. I just looked through my notes -- it was ok. High level HIT concepts, several frameworks and models (with some case studies from Maryland), and a focus on population health (identifying risk and segmenting the health system population for intervention and cost savings). Just my $0.02.

I would say it does have some value … my only hesitation is there may be a better resource out there which I am just not familiar with. Does that make sense? There is some good information, but in some ways I feel like you have to wade through a lot to get the more useful nuggets.
I would definitely say my understanding of health care informatics was increased … just not totally sure if it increased enough based on the amount of time I spent going through the modules. But … when I finished the course I did feel like I had a better understanding of informatics methods, issues, etc.
