Applied Informatics Team Training 2018

Interested in the PHII 8 steps course?

Hi all,

Many of you in your applications noted you would be interested in the PHII course, Designing and Managing Public Health Information Systems: 8 Steps to Success.  I have reached out to PHII to identify the dates of the next course, but they are currently scheduled for late spring.  If we have enough interest, they could offer a course earlier in the year.

Please respond to this post if your agency is interested in this training and how many would participate.

Boston is likely interested. Are there any more details available about the course content and timing? We have 3-5 who may be interested, depending on what is covered and the level. Will this be an allowable expense for our training stipend? Thanks!

I think North Dakota would be interested. I took this course last year and found it beneficial. I think 3 of our team members would take this course if available.

TN has some Interest in the PHII Training Course 'Designing and Managing Public Health Information Systems'.  Would this course count against the stipend funds, as some of us have had this training?
Jessica Arrazola, Director of Educational Strategy at CSTE
Yes the PHII Course would come out of your Learning Stipend.  However, the cost is per person so if only those who hadn't previously participated want to participate, you would only need to pay for them.

The team in California is interested, but only 3 of our 4 team members would participate.  (the 4th member has already taken this training).  Thanks so much

Do you know that the cost per person would be if we participate?

Thanks!

Hello Jessica,

I am interested in this course and so are a couple of other people here in KY.  Do you have the price per person available?
Jessica Arrazola, Director of Educational Strategy at CSTE
Hi All,  I have an update on the 8 Steps Course.  The course will cost $525 per person and will be held virtually May 10-June 28, 2018.  If you plan to use your learning stipend for this training, please sign up using the below link by April 1st or before your learning stipend contract is finalized (whichever comes first).  Your total learning stipend amount will be reduced for each person planning to participate so CSTE can pay PHII directly.

Are we supposed to have an acknowledgement that we successfully signed up for this course?  Just want to make sure my preregistration was received.
Jessica Arrazola, Director of Educational Strategy at CSTE
I haven't sent out confirmations out yet.  I will send a list out to each team after the deadline passes next week.
