CSTE LEAD 2022

Informal Intros/Networking virtual meet up

Hey everyone--During our first meeting last week, there was a lot of interest in doing an informal introduction/networking opportunity to get to know each other better. Would anyone be interested in setting something up in the next 1-2 weeks?
I can suggest a couple dates/times:
  • Wednesday, January 19th 8am PT/9am MT/10am CT/11am ET
  • Friday January 28th 9am PT/10am MT/11am CT/12pm ET
Comment below if you have interest and/or if either date works for you. We can set something up from there. Have a great weekend!

Comments & Events

I am interested! 1/28 would work for me.  Thanks for getting this going!
Kelly Walblay, Senior Epidemiologist - Healthcare Program
I am interested! I could make 1/28 work for me as well. If it could be Friday afternoon instead that would be better (1pm or later CST) - not sure if that's better for others. Thanks!!
Amelia Salmanson, Viral Hepatitis Coordinator

Hi all! I hope you had a great meet-up! Unfortunately, I was down and out with COVID, but look forward to connecting soon.
Katrina Hansen
Hi all, I was sad to miss the meet-up! I had a few conflicts and then had a rare day/weekend away. I will briefly introduce myself though. My name is Katrina Hansen, pronouns (She, her, hers). I started as staff epidemiologist in HAI in 2010 and now oversee infectious disease surveillance in NH's Bureau of Infectious Disease Control. My project is focused on transitioning to a modern surveillance system where we hope to integrate our various systems, including STI/Viral hep, HIV.  NH has struggled with IT investment but we now have funding thanks to several ELC COVID supplements and are able to make these long-term investments. I hope to engage staff that touch our system (admin, end users, city health departments) and our IT /informatics colleagues. It is a big project but I am excited to see the future of our surveillance! Outside of work, I am a mom to two daughters (7 yo and 1 yo), I finished my yoga teaching certificate in middle of COVID response and had my second kiddo in summer 2020. I also had to manage remote learning 2020-spring 2021.  It has been an incredibly busy 2 years with some of the hardest in my career, and also most fulfilling. I really look forward to talking with you all more and hearing about your projects! If anyone is working on a surveillance system project, I would love to connect!
Laura Fox, Environmental Public Health Tracking Epidemiologist
Hi Katrina Hansen Katrina Amelia Salmanson, Viral Hepatitis Coordinator Amelia !
Sorry you couldn't make the informal networking meet ups, but stay tuned! There was interest from several people to set up a monthly informal networking meeting/"happy hour"/"coffee chat."
Amelia Salmanson, Viral Hepatitis Coordinator
Awesome! Love that- count me in!
Katrina Hansen
Ditto!
