CSTE LEAD 2022

Upcoming Opportunities

Happy Friday!

Please find three opportunities below that may be of interest:

1. Host site applications are currently open for the CSTE Applied Public Health Informatics Fellowship

APHIF is a 2-year training fellowship program for early career professionals in the fields of public health informatics and data science. Fellows work on a variety of projects at their host site and in return explore long-term career opportunities in public health informatics. To host a fellow for the 2023-2025 class, host sites submit an application that describes their ability to provide mentorship, applied projects supporting data modernization work, and hands-on learning experiences. The APHIF host site application is available online and applications are due January 3, 2023.

For more information on the APHIF fellowship, including mentor eligibility, recording of an informational webinar for prospective host sites, and the link to the APHIF host site application, please visit our website: https://www.cste.org/general/custom.asp?page=aphif-webpage

2. Host sites applications are also open for the CSTE Applied Epidemiology Fellowship.

Modeled after CDC's EIS program, AEF is designed to give recent public health graduates on-the-job training at health departments in preparation for a career in applied epidemiology. Through the guidance of experienced mentors, fellows develop applied epidemiologic skills by working on projects identified as priorities by the health department. AEF is open to recent graduates with master’s and doctoral degrees who have training in epidemiology.

The AEF host site application is now open for fellowship start dates in 2022 (maternal and child health/maternal mortality and drug overdose positions ONLY) and for fellowship start dates in 2023 in all subject areas. More information, including details on mentor eligibility requirements, and the application are available online at Prospective Host Sites | CSTE Fellows (wpengine.com)

Please note: The information provided in the “Project Description” section of accepted applications will be posted on CSTE’s website for potential fellows to review during the application and matching process. Submission and/or acceptance of an application does not guarantee placement of a fellow at your host agency.

For any questions about the host site application for either fellowship, contact CSTE at aphif@cste.org or aef@cste.org or 770-458-3811.
