CSTE LEAD 2022

Using Epi Data to Drive Policy

The Data Elemental to Health Campaign was successful in advocating for resources to support epidemiology. In the era of COVID-19, how can public health partners like CSTE continue to advocate for public health needs to support the Data Modernization Initiative?  What are key elements of messaging and partnership that should be included? Respond to at least one colleague.

Data infrastructures and informatics workforce are areas that need to be developed and supported. We have advocated for years, however, resources haven't come yet, at least not to local level.

I'm not even sure what the best approach to this is. Unfortunately, since COVID public health is so underappreciated, mistrusted, and understaffed. It feels like we have tried everything to advocate for more funding in various areas of public health and nothing is sticking.
