Suggestions for Feb 2019 ELR call -- in no particular order. Hope this helps get folks thinking about the call tomorrow! Thanks! Nancy

1) Andrew from CDPHE had a question about using Rhapsody to call to a web service such as Melissa for geocoding -- any one have any help/guidance for him?
1a) Ancillary question -- are states geocoding ELR messages as they come into for processing or geocoding after cases hit their surveillance systems. Any issues/caveats?

2. Dual reporting -- Ann Kayser MN asked about dual reporting (from reference lab and original submitting lab). Her questions are below.
1.       Does your state require dual laboratory reporting?
2.       Are you currently able to get reference lab results sent from the ordering facility through ELR?
a.       If yes, what LIS system(s) seem to be able to do this or is a data integration engine being used?
b.       If no, which LIS system(s) seem to have the most struggle with this?
3.       Does size of the health system or facility affect dual reporting?
4.       Does your state have health information exchange(s)? Does this make a difference in receiving reference lab results from the ordering facility?

3) NEDSS Assessment updates -- ELR survey?

4) Rachelle Boulton UT was asking on the SPIS subcommittee call about NMI experiences/issues. One question that came up was "are we moving too fast with this". That subcommittee is planning a call about that topic. Do we want a similar call for this workgroup? Is anyone validating the lab template for NMI?

5) My question for Meredith -- can we make suggestions for topics for the S&I Sunday pre-CSTE conference workshop?
5a) Ancillary -- how do folks want to see the ELR meet & great organized for CSTE 2019? Do you have any specific topics that you'd like to see addressed?  Do folks want a mini-working session at CSTE for brainstorming? Of course, snacks and drinks are definitely on the agenda :-)

Do you know if there are any ongoing discussions regarding utilizing AIMS for inter-jurisdictional information exchange? If so, can someone speak to how this can be implemented?

Thanks - Theresa Kittle, Mississippi State Department of Health

Good question!

Hi Theresa,

I'm not aware of any on-going discussions about this at a national level. We have been implementing this with jurisdictions around Iowa and would be happy to have a call to discuss. The Rhapsody components that were developed for Iowa can be requested at https://www.gggllc.com/request-form.I have also attached the tool kit that we put together back in 2015.
