ACTION ITEM: As your schedules allow, please review the 2 attached documents and bring your questions and comments to the April call.
Brief summary of the 2 documents for reference:
1. Following the discussion on the March Advisory Group call, we worked to identify an approach that incorporates 4 key groups or types of input that are key for developing an Overdose Spike Alert Toolkit to be used by applied epidemiologists but that also recognizes and emphasizes the critical role that partner organizations serve in responding at the community level. The 2 working documents attached summarizes this proposed approach to capture the various types of input needed, within the timeline and scope of the project, and in compliance with the limit of 9 KII participants. This is now the “4 Key Stakeholder Groups":
a. The CSTE OD Spike Alert Advisory Group - members with continued input
b. 9 Key Informants to Interview - epidemiologists/surveillance professionals at different health depts
c. Technical experts – individuals invited to substantively contribute to a technical section of the toolkit
d. Community partners/other professionals such as poison control, EMS, law enforcement
2. Adding emphasis to the draft KII questions for up to 9 applied epidemiologists in various jurisdictions that further prioritize identifying roles of partners, communication and data sharing practices and other details in addition to the specific epi role
