Questions for CDC for January call

I know this is a busy time of year for most and everyone is looking forward to a few days off. I would like to ask a favor for everyone to put on your thinking caps for about 5 minutes and send me a question you would like Dr Von Ngyuen Deputy and Associate Director for Policy and Strategy at CDC. He's spent time at CMS and has a unique perspective of how public health and health care intersect.

His talk will be directed by the questions we want him to answer. I have a few below to help you get in the brainstorming mode:

- How do you see public health taking a bigger role with health care and behavioral health integration in states?
- How is CDC going to help state and local entities gain better access to health care data (e.g., claims, EHR)?
- What is the vision CDC has for state and local health departments and their role in health care? What is CDC considering to help states and locals take on or manage that role (e.g., grant structure, federal partnerships)?
- How can CDC help public health gain a better footing in conversations around social determinants of health that health care is just now beginning to pay attention?

These are some of my initial thoughts. Could everyone commit to sending me at least one question for Von no later than December 28th so he has time to prepare responses for our January meeting? You can post here on Basecamp or email me directly at: mandy.stahre@ofm.wa.gov.

Thank you,

Mandy
