The two-step floating catchment area (2SFCA) method was developed to measure spatial health care accessibility, for example, to primary care physicians. This relatively new approach alleviates the caveats associated with other, traditional approaches. For example, the 2SFCA approach allows: 1) health care access not a priori defined by geopolitical boundaries; and 2) health care access to movement across boundaries. Accompanying this manuscript is the "recipe" for the methodology using ArcGIS.
