CSTE Spatial Analysis Workgroup

CSTE Conference in June

Hey everyone,

This is Steven with Hidalgo County HHSD, Texas. Hope all is well. Sorry, I was unable to make the last call, so this may have already been discussed. I was interested in seeing who will be attending the CSTE conference in a couple weeks. Also to see if there are any Spatial Analysis sessions/roundtables y'all are looking at? And if y'all are interested in having a side meeting during the conference to get to meet one another.

Feel free to provide any feedback on these ideas.

Best,
Steven

Good idea. I will be attending and would be interested in getting together with other spatially-minded epidemiologists.

On Tuesday 12 June at 2:00 pm in the Coral Room, I am on the agenda for a "lightning session" to present my inhomogeneous Poisson model of the locations of EMS naloxone administration (as an indicator of opioid overdsose) in my three-county EMS region in southern NY State, using census-tract socioeconomic predictors and distance to nearest minimart.

That would be nice to find a time/place to meet at the conference. Evan is not attending this year but I will be around.

I also have a shameless plug for my 10 min presentation:

"Mapping Hospital Antibiogram Data in Massachusetts Using Healthmap " (ID#9284)

Session: Infectious Disease III- Navigating the Seas of Resistance
Session Date/Time/Location: Tuesday, June 12, 2018: 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM, PBCCC, Ballroom B

Let's ask Jessica her thoughts on a time/place we could meet? We may just have to find a time and send out a base camp invite and if people are free then come by for a meet and greet.  Scott

I would recommend the 12-1 lunch break time to prevent any overlap with the sessions.  As far as restaurant recommendations, I know there are several options nearby, but I haven't looked any up.  Given the short turn around, would anyone like to suggest one of the restaurants and pick a day?

Please plan on attending the Epi Methods Subcommittee Meeting on Wednesday, June 13th at 7:30 am when we will cover our Spatial Analysis workgroup work.
