Here is a great example of an interactive map of aging that is used to tap data from the US Census Bureau, courtesy of The New York Academy of Medicine and the CUNY Mapping Service.  While this map service is specific to NYC, you may contact the authors if interested in adapting this map for other localities by contacting them at imagenycmap@nyam.org
