Mapping in R (in 10 steps)

I ran across this post and wanted to share with those using R for mapping.  Many useful techniques and tools presented here (in a very approachable manner) for those with some familiarity with R.  If you're looking to get an intro to R for mapping - this could be a great starting point.

Though the example works with election data, the process can be easily modified to work with virtually any of our public health, epi, surveillance data.
