The Global COVID-19 Viewer visualizes daily updated global data of COVID-19 cases and deaths at a glance, and several risk factors.  In the latest update, the map displays the national prevalence (case) and death rates for the previous seven days. By zooming in, users can access sub-national data for selected countries (e.g., the US, Brazil, and many countries in Europe). Prevalence and mortality rates summarize the pandemic’s impacts since the beginning of the pandemic.

A pop-up trends graph shows daily and 7-day averages of cases and deaths for a range of select time scales, from 1-month to 6-month and beyond. To access the graph, which also displays demographic and urbanization estimates, click on a country. For custom areas, use the drawing tools on the right. User-friendly features let you fly to an area of interest, and easily scale up or down available administrative levels, with demarcations by color. The Viewer was developed by the NASA Socioeconomic Data and Applications Center (SEDAC) managed by CIESIN.
